What it can do

  • Starts a fresh headless Inspire for each call and runs the agent's code against the hwx.inspire Python API.
  • Lists parts with bounding box, mass, volume, material and thickness, plus load cases, loads and contacts.
  • Returns available result types and min and max values with locations from an OptiStruct .h3d file.
  • Exports an OptiStruct .fem deck without overwriting existing files; it doesn't run the solver.

Limitations

  • Not a live-GUI bridge; it can't see or change the model open in your Inspire window, and no state is kept between calls.
  • The Python tool runs arbitrary code with your user's permissions.
  • Non-ASCII output paths hang the OptiStruct export in Inspire 2026; the tool stages exports in an ASCII folder to work around it.
