What it can do
- Runs Python against the live ETABS model in a restricted sandbox with no arbitrary imports and no file-system writes.
- Searches all ETABS API methods by keyword before the agent writes code.
- Lists running ETABS instances by alias, process, file and version.
- Serves eight skills, including seismic check, modal report and database-table workflows, and picks up extra SKILL.md folders placed next to the executable without a rebuild.
Limitations
- Packaged for Claude Desktop as an .mcpb extension; other clients are not described.
- ETABS must be running with a model open.
Install
Download etabs-mcp.mcpb from the Releases page, drag it onto Claude Desktop's Settings > Extensions window (or use Install from file), open ETABS with a model and ask Claude to call discover_api.MCP servers and skills run code on your computer. Review the source before installing.
AI-generated models, drawings and results must be checked by a qualified engineer before use.
