What it can do
- Adds a chat dock inside FreeCAD that works with 24 LLM providers, including local Ollama, with Plan mode to review code and Act mode to run it.
- Offers 50 structured FreeCAD operations plus skills for enclosures, gears, fastener holes and sketch-from-image.
- Starts an MCP server from the toolbar so outside clients such as Claude Code can use the same tools on the open document, or a headless stdio server through FreeCAD's command line.
- Sends failed code back to the model for up to three automatic retries.
Limitations
- Alpha; the author warns of breaking changes and occasional FreeCAD crashes from generated code.
- The MCP server is unauthenticated by default and can run arbitrary Python; set a bearer token.
