What it can do

  • Turns addresses into coordinates and coordinates back into addresses.
  • Calculates routes and directions, and returns elevation values.
  • Generates static map images showing points, lines and polygons.
  • Accepts either an API key in a Bearer header or OAuth 2.0 sign-in, for clients that support it.

Limitations

  • Covers ArcGIS Location Services only; it doesn't open ArcGIS Pro projects or run geoprocessing.
  • Needs an ArcGIS Location Platform or ArcGIS Online account, and stored geocoding and data enrichment need pay-as-you-go turned on.
  • The API key needs a list of privileges, including beta access, set up before the tools work.
