- How it connects
- Reads and writes files; the tool isn't needed
- Access
- Can modify models
- Tool versions
- unknown (works on BDF and OP2 files that pyNastran 1.4 or later can read)

What it can do
- Summarises a BDF model and lists nodes, elements, materials and properties.
- Lists OP2 result cases and extracts stress and displacement results.
- Checks mesh quality, returns the model bounding box and generates an analysis report.
- Can write the loaded model back out to a new BDF file.
Limitations
- Works on files only; it doesn't start Nastran, Patran or Femap.
- The README's pip install name wasn't found on PyPI at this check; install from source.
- No commits since March 2026.
