What it can do

  • Finds VTB reactor models from an index built from each model's own tags, such as reactor type, codes used and whether it is transient.
  • Explains VTB documentation, including models built on non-MOOSE codes such as OpenMC, MCNP, Serpent and NekRS.
  • Generates or modifies input files for ten MOOSE-based applications, grounded in a bundled VTB input that already demonstrates the setup.
  • Adds slash commands in Claude Code for finding docs, finding a model and generating an input.

Limitations

  • Won't invent new MultiApp couplings; it only reuses couplings that a bundled VTB input already shows.
  • Works from a snapshot of the VTB repository, so newer models appear only after the release zip is rebuilt.
  • The folder has no licence file of its own; the README calls applying the repository's CC-BY-4.0 licence an open question.
  • Doesn't run MOOSE or check that a generated input executes.

Install

Download vtb-assistant-plugin.zip from the vtb-assistant-pack-latest release and extract it to ~/.claude/skills/vtb-assistant/ (or your project's .claude/skills/vtb-assistant/); Claude Code loads it as a skills-directory plugin.
