What it can do
- Creates, opens and saves .qgs and .qgz projects, and adds GeoPackage-backed vector layers with typed fields.
- Adds features from WKT geometry and builds simple print layouts with map and label items.
- Exports layouts to PDF or images and lists or runs any Processing algorithm through qgis_process.
- Returns JSON from every command, and starts a stateful REPL when run with no subcommand.
Limitations
- Runs the QGIS engine headless from the terminal; it doesn't control an open QGIS window.
- PyQGIS must be importable from the Python that runs the CLI, which may need a virtual environment with system site packages.
- Part of a large multi-application repository; the QGIS harness is installed from its own subfolder.
