What it can do
- Inserts equipment, instruments and valves by style, and draws process and signal lines with real connections, line groups, off-page connectors, tags and labels in the drawing you name.
- Checks the project database read-only for duplicate or unregistered tags, orphans, free line ends, unpaired off-page connectors and control loops, and builds a line list.
- Audits a sheet for diagonal segments, overlapping symbols and labels over lines, routes new lines orthogonally and plans renumbering by sheet.
- Queries 3D piping read-only for line lists, BOM, valves, welds, bolts and gaskets, and pipe length.
Limitations
- Windows only; you build the .NET plug-in yourself with the .NET 10 SDK, and the server loads it with NETLOAD.
- The Plant 3D window must stay maximised while tools run, because a minimised window rejects COM calls.
- Developed by one student on one P&ID project; other project setups and standards are untested.
