What it can do
- Launches a local pvserver, connects the ParaView GUI and then a pvpython bridge to the same session with one command.
- Fixed tools inspect the pipeline, load data, apply filters, colour data, set the camera and export screenshots, data and animations.
- Runs trusted ParaView Python through a separate tool for anything the fixed tools don't cover, in the bridge or in a headless pvpython process.
Limitations
- The bridge is a separate pvpython client, so render, camera and screenshot calls are blocked in GUI mode to avoid opening a detached window.
- The Python tool is fully trusted; the block on display calls is a guardrail, not a sandbox.
- Keep the launch terminal open; closing it stops the GUI, bridge and server.
