What it can do

  • Twenty tools browse the project tree, read Structured Text, search code by regex and objects by glob, and return the device tree and I/O mapping.
  • Creates or rewrites ST objects, replaces text inside them, renames objects with all references, and adds or removes libraries and task program calls.
  • Checks the project for errors with paths and line numbers, optionally after a full compile.
  • Looks up library documentation and types, and ships two resources: a description of the CODESYS ST dialect and an IEC unit-test template.

Limitations

  • Only Structured Text can be created or changed; graphical languages are read-only.
  • Needs a CODESYS Professional Developer Edition subscription and is downloaded only through the CODESYS Installer.
  • CODESYS V3 has limited undo, so CODESYS recommends file-based project storage under Git; project data sent to a cloud model leaves the machine.

Install

Download the CODESYS MCP Server through the CODESYS Installer (it is part of the Professional Developer Edition), then configure your local MCP client to start it; it talks over standard input/output.
