What it can do

  • Reads and edits Modeler surfaces, control nets and the design grid, and returns upright hydrostatics.
  • Sets up Stability tanks, load cases and damage cases and runs equilibrium, heel and GZ analyses against a criteria library you choose.
  • Transfers a hull to Resistance and Motions, runs the native calculations and exports result tables.
  • Builds and analyses Multiframe beam models, including linear static and modal runs, and pages results back as JSON.

Limitations

  • A technical preview (0.2.0-rc.5) that its author says has incomplete native-analysis, persistence and clean-install acceptance.
  • The README states it is not a class-compliance authority; tool success doesn't validate a design.
  • Needs Windows x64, 64-bit CPython 3.12 and Bentley applications with COM automation entitlement; the default policy expects the application to be open already.
  • A known discrepancy between Modeler and Stability KG values was unresolved at release.

Install

In Claude Desktop open Settings > Extensions > Advanced settings > Install extension, select the downloaded .mcpb file, then in Configure Maxsurf MCP choose your 64-bit Python 3.12 executable and a design workspace folder.
